Poem
There is Pain
Author: Sara Whiteside
Summary: This is a poem which is written by a child who describes the painful results of her parent's divorce.
There is Pain in my heart as I watch my family split apart
things will never be the same
betrayal is the game
there are tears in my eyes, when we say our painful good-byes
I ask why
why does it have to be this way?
why did it turn out like this?
I don't want it to end oh no not today
betrayal loves to ruin peoples lives
doesn't it
as I look all around
all I see is knives
stuck in peoples backs
I cry myself to sleep
there is pain in this body
I call mine
pain that I can't get out
I would yell across the sea
across the ocean
but instead I keep it bottled up,
inside
the pain it hurts
through and through
family's are meant to stick together
not be torn apart
now I might never see the joy and the laughter
I thought I would
when I look across the street
and I see parents helping
their kid put the angel
on top of the Christmas tree,
together
all I can do is cry
eyes full of tear
my vision gets blurry
I can't hold it in
and all I can see now is
that it's over now
there is no more.
